About the Brand

Whitespace is a printing and stationery business that focuses on high-quality sticker printing and a wide range of stationery products. The brand wanted a clean, modern, and versatile visual identity that would reflect simplicity and creativity—values essential to their business.

Client Requirement

The client approached me with an existing logo they had created themselves using Canva. The logo was very basic:

  • A square box
  • A “W” inside it
  • The brand name “Whitespace Printing & Stationery” written in plain text

The client’s request was clear:

  • Convert the existing idea into a high-quality vector logo
  • Create a more refined, professional version
  • Explore a “paint-written” style for the letter W
  • Keep the logo simple, clean, and brand-appropriate

Design Approach

I began by exploring different visual directions while keeping the core of the client’s original concept intact.

1. Initial Concepts

I created four different logo options, each focusing on a unique interpretation of the W:

  • A hand-painted “W” created in Illustrator to give an organic, artistic feel
  • A minimal version with a keyboard-style spacebar symbol to represent “Whitespace”
  • Variations of the square container and typography styles
  • Black-and-white versions to highlight simplicity and whitespace usage

Although the “spacebar” concept was creative, the client preferred not to go in that direction.

2. Color Exploration

Initially, I proposed a black-and-white palette to maintain the idea of literal whitespace and simplicity.
However, the client requested a softer, more inviting color option.

We mutually agreed on a pastel blue tone for the painted “W,” which aligned well with the stationery/printing aesthetic—clean, calm, and modern.

3. Final Logo

The final approved logo featured:

  • A hand-painted W in pastel blue
  • Clean, modern typography for Whitespace
  • A simple layout without clutter or excessive detail
    The final design was elegant, minimal, and brand-appropriate—just what the client wanted.

Deliverables

I provided the client with:

  • All logo variations (light, dark, and color versions)
  • Multiple file formats (AI, EPS, PDF, PNG, JPEG)
  • Different sizes optimized for print and digital use
  • A clean vector version suitable for scaling to any dimension

Client Feedback

The client was very happy with the final outcome and appreciated the clean execution and multiple options provided. They also left positive feedback on Google Maps, expressing satisfaction with the entire design process and communication.
